Set up personalization and your voice

Sam writes in your voice using only facts you give him. The more you share, the better his drafts.

Only workspace owners and admins can save these settings.

Open personalization setup

1. In Sam, click Settings.
2. Under Personalization, click Personalization setup.

Tell Sam about your business

Fill in these fields:

• Your offer
• The outcome you help people achieve
• How you invite a reply
• Proof you can substantiate, one fact per line. Only the facts you add here can be used as proof.
• Your personal experience, one statement per line
• Words and claims to avoid, one per line

Show Sam how you write

Under Your own messages, at least three, ideally ten or more, paste real messages you've sent. Click Add example for more. Your examples guide the writing style.

You can also set:

• Message structure, one part per line
• Moves to avoid, one per line
• Customer pains by audience, one group per line (format: group: pain; pain)
• Default formality: Formal or Informal
• Connection request: No note or Short note

Choose what Sam opens with

Under Hook order, first available relevant source wins, use Move up to rank:

1. Profile focus
2. Recent authored post
3. Interview
4. Promotion

Sam uses the first source that's available and relevant for each person. Profile focus is first unless you change the order.

Choose how the first follow-up works

Under First follow-up, pick one:

• Standard sequence message: everyone gets the message you wrote in the campaign.
• Personalized for each person: Sam writes a personal first follow-up for each prospect.

If you pick personalized, choose a Draft review mode:

• Approve every draft: you review each personalized draft before it goes out.
• Send without individual draft review: drafts go out without one-by-one review.

Click Save personalization. You'll see "Personalization saved. Nothing was sent."

Set the outreach language

Under Outreach language, choose Use workspace or country language or Use country language, then click Save outreach language. Language rules for individual prospects and countries take priority.

Add knowledge from Claude or ChatGPT

You can also teach Sam from your assistant:

• "Save this to my knowledge base: [paste text]." Sam can save up to 20 entries at a time, each up to 4,000 characters. Split long documents by topic, such as product, proof, pains, ICP, objections and voice.
• "Build a voice profile from my LinkedIn posts." Sam shows a preview and saves nothing until you decide.

Voice notes

To send LinkedIn voice notes in your own voice, open Settings > AI Voice Profile and clone your voice.
